NAMED 2004 HOTEL OF THE YEAR GRAND AWARD WINNER

Andrew Harper, editor and publisher of the exclusive Andrew Harper’s Hideaway Report, announced El Portal, located in Sedona, Arizona, as a 2004 Grand Award winner in the report’s 25th annual Hotel of the Year competition.

El Portal, opened just six months ago, is one of only eight hotels nationwide and 16 worldwide to received this award, and is the only such chosen property in the state of Arizona.

Each year Andrew Harper’s Hideaway Report singles out some of the world’s most captivating hideaway hotels and resorts for special recognition with its Hotel of the Year award.

To be initially considered, a property must be relatively intimate in size and be located in peaceful and scenically pleasing surroundings. Properties are then judged on all-round comfort, non-commercial character and passionate commitment to personal service.

“Ultimately, however, we rely on the ‘Q factor’ - the intangible summary impression that instinctively separates the good from the truly enchanting,” states the criteria.
