Excellent Experience
We decided on Sedona for my birthday and as we were looking for a place to stay El Portal caught our attention because it looked so cozy and unique! Where do I begin the experience at El Portal was amazing! It’s a small little hotel full of history, it’s owned and ran by a, in my opinion, very special couple – Steve and Connie (goals) love them, so full of life! You will definitely NOT get their kind of hospitality in one of those sterile corporate hotels. El Portal made the experience of Sedona so much more special. Beautiful energy and it’s in a GREAT location! I will definitely be back! Hopefully this summer.
Thank you Steve and Connie

5.0 – Excellent

First time staying here and I was in complete awe. Overall the place was amazing from the friendly staff to the complimentary items for the guest. My now-fiancée broke into tears when she saw the Greene & Greene room. It was a magical place that is a definite must-stay. We will be back.

No words can describe how pleasant our stay was…

It was like stepping back 100 years in time- but with all the amenities of modern life tastefully integrated- the beams and timbers reminded us of the Ahwahnee hotel in Yosemite -but much warmer and intimate. From the soaking tubs to the generous treats in the beautiful lobby to the comfortable beds we found ourselves hard pressed to want to leave and visit the rest of Sedona. But when we did tear ourselves away it was literally a 1 minute walk to great restaurants and shops in quaintest Sedona. Will come back as often as we can!!

“Steve and Connie are excellent hosts. The property is very quiet and nestled near the Tlaquepaque shopping center. Plenty of eateries and desserts within walking distance. We didn’t see any other kids during our stay, but will say this place is kid friendly. Our family made s’mores nightly in the courtyard fire-pit. This was a huge hit with our grandkids. Connie and Steve know how important our four legged fur babies are and they are treated so well here. We stayed in the Grand Canyon room and it had a large private patio fenced tall enough where our dog couldn’t get out. Room was spacious enough to accommodate our 6’ tepee we brought along. We will most definitely be staying here again when visiting Sedona again. I wanted to send a special thank you to Andrea. She made us feel welcome and was very accommodating. Thanks again for such a great stay!”

Beautiful hotel, highly recommend! Room was very clean, owners were friendly & I loved the fireplace. It feels very private & secluded but was walking distance to everything we needed. We had 2 dogs in room 6 & the patio was just perfect for them. Hope to stay here again.

One of the loveliest hotels I’ve stayed at. The fireplaces and hot tub in room #4 were a great touch. The owners are so kind and generous – definitely recommend visiting the lobby and chatting with them.
Centrally located in Sedona – within 5-10 min walking distance from great shops and restaurants. Would love to come back as soon as I can… cannot stress enough how great this place is!

El Portal is by far one of my favorite hotels that I’ve ever stayed at. The rustic charm of the rooms originally caught my attention and I’m so glad we decided to stay here. We chose the Juniper room, and it surely offered the cozy and picturesque getaway that I’ve desperately needed after such a turbulent year. The rooms feel very private and you can tell how much thought went into giving each room its own distinct character. El Portal also has a great location in Sedona – we were able to walk to many local eateries and shops. Our stay here was definitely one of the highlights of our trip and we’d be happy to stay here again the next time we visit!
