Parking at Sedona’s most popular trailheads can be frustrating, especially on busy weekends. The free Sedona trailhead shuttle makes the process much easier by letting you park once, ride to the trail, and skip the hunt for a roadside space.

Start at the Right Park-and-Ride

The system uses three main park-and-ride lots. The North SR 179 Park & Ride at 1294 SR 179 serves Cathedral Rock and Little Horse. Posse Grounds Park & Ride at 20 Carruth Drive serves Soldier Pass, while the West SR 89A Park & Ride at 905 Upper Red Rock Loop Road serves Mescal and Dry Creek Vista.

No reservations are required for the fixed-route trailhead shuttles, but overnight parking is not allowed. Check the Sedona Shuttle riding guide before heading out.

Take Route 15 to Cathedral Rock and Little Horse

For two of Sedona’s most famous trailheads, use Route 15 from the North SR 179 lot.

The shuttle stops first at Cathedral Rock and then Little Horse, with frequent departures during operating hours. This is especially useful because parking near Cathedral Rock is heavily restricted when shuttle service is running.

Use Posse Grounds for Soldier Pass

Hikers bound for Soldier Pass should start at Posse Grounds Park & Ride. The shuttle drops passengers close to the trailhead, avoiding one of Sedona’s most limited parking situations.

Reach Mescal and Devil’s Bridge From West Sedona

For Mescal or Devil’s Bridge, head to the West SR 89A Park & Ride. Route 11 serves both Mescal and Dry Creek Vista.

Dry Creek Vista is a popular access point for hikers continuing toward Devil’s Bridge, while Mescal provides access to its namesake trail and surrounding red-rock routes.

Check the Schedule Before You Hike

Current fixed-route trailhead service generally operates Thursday through Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with additional service offered during some holidays and peak travel periods. Schedules can also change because of seasonal heat or operational needs.
